Introduction
Basket weaving is known as the art of Tokri Bunna. This craft has evolved into many containers for transporting food and collectibles. This craft is old after pottery. These baskets are made of grass and take on new shapes with every mile.

Basket making is a craft that has been around for centuries and is believed to be one of the oldest crafts known to man. Baskets have been used for many purposes throughout history, from holding food and tools to carrying water and grains. These days, baskets are used for much more than their traditional uses. People create baskets as decorative pieces, for art projects, and even as gifts.

When it comes to getting started with basket making, there are several things one will consider. First, you need to decide what type of basket you want to make. There are several different styles of baskets, from simple woven styles to intricate patterns and shapes. You can also choose what material you want to use for your basket, such as twine, rattan, reed, or other materials.

Thanks to the different properties of the grass and the voids in the woven strips, the item stored in these baskets stays fresh.

The lifespan of these baskets is approximately 2-2.5 years.
A basket’s storage capacity is its ability to keep stored items cool and ventilated.

During the festival, community men go to surrounding villages, sing songs and telling stories from door to door. The women of the community weave baskets, which are then sold in the surrounding villages and towns.

Design
The elements of the basket are the bottom, the side walls and the rim.
Basket with lid, handle and decorations.
A wide variety of patterns are created by changing the size, color, or placement of a particular weave style.
For a multi-colored effect, the artisans dye the cord and weave the trunks into intricate patterns.
Challenges –
A special type of grass is far from the colony.
The craftsmen have to travel about 10-12 km to collect the reeds.
The difficulty of obtaining grass led to the slow depletion of the art, which reduced the number of craftsmen who practiced this craft.
