Have you ever heard of the Panihati China Dali Utsav? It is an annual festival celebrated in Panihati, India, and it is one of the most colourful and vibrant festivals in the country. The festival is celebrated to honour Lord Krishna, and it is a unique blend of traditional customs and modern festivities.

The UTSAV (festival) begins with a grand procession of the deities from the Animate Temple. A huge, garlanded chariot carrying Lord Krishna and Radha is pulled by devotees dressed in traditional attire. They are accompanied by other devotees, singing and dancing to devotional songs. This procession winds its way around the streets bringing joy and revelry to the people.

 Once the procession reaches the temple, devotees break large earthen pots filled with yogurt or Dahi. This act symbolizes the destruction of evil forces in society. After this, there is a special pupa (worship) performed for Lord Krishna and Rad ha. Then follows a Chida Dahika.
