However, Hiranyakashipu’s own son, Prahlada, was a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu and didn’t bow down to his father’s demands. Frustrated with his son’s devotion to Vishnu, Hiranyakashipu tried to kill Prahlada.
In response, Lord Narasimha appeared from within a pillar in Hiranyakashipu’s palace and killed Hiranyakashipu, thus saving Prahlada and restoring the balance of good over evil.
